Summer is a time for having fun and cementing everything you have learnt during the school year. Both these goals can complement each other and summer is a perfect time to find a good balance between them.
English camps are very popular amongst children who want to keep learning and developing their language over the summer, putting into practise everything they have learned over the school year.
There are roughly three different kinds of English camp where children can learn the language and have fun:
- Camps that offer English Classes
These camps, which take different themes, designate part of their daily programme to English classes, aimed at improving the children's language. The children are separated by age and by level of English, to ensure that the class content is suitable for them and that they learn at the right level.
After these English classes, the day ends with different activities done in the students' native language. These can be workshops, water sports, adventure activities or others, depending on the type of camp the child is at.
- Linguistic Immersion Camps with English Classes
Children who go to these camps experience linguistic immersion throughout. All the activities are done in English and led by native supervisors.
This learning is also reinforced with English classes, providing the children with new vocabulary and grammatical skills that they can put into practise both in the classroom and during the activities.
- Linguistic Immersion Camps
These are camps where English is the main language and the supervisors are native English-speakers. They tend to have a specific theme such as football, adventure or dance etc. But all the activities are done in English. The children tend to come from all over the world so they all communicate in English.
This is becoming an increasingly popular option amongst parents, as the importance for kids to learn English becomes ever greater. English summer camps are a great opportunity for children to learn and have fun at the same time.
