Speaking foreign languages almost to a bilingual level is more and more important not only for adults, but also for kids. Currently, there are lots of English camps, French camps and German camps so that our children get the skills the globalised world is demanding. And the best part is they learn almost without realising it and having a lot of fun! Summer camps abroad allow kids to learn a new language, but also they will develop their autonomy and will enjoy cultural enrichment by meeting new friends from different countries in the world.

BENEFITS OF STUDYING A NEW LANGUAGE BEING A CHILD

  • Learning is easier

The younger the kid, the greater his capacity to absorb new information. He will not have to make an extra effort since we learn a language innately as our brain grows. Besides, learning a first foreign language will help learn a second one, and more.

  • Positive effects to our mental health

When children study a new language they get mental agility, meaning a better capacity to concentrate, better attention and memory. They will develop multitasking skills as well as a greater ability for problem solving.

  • Accessing a globalised world

Studying a new language allows to know other cultures and be open-minded. They will meet children from other countries and will be interested in different lifestyles. They will grow intellectually and will get new values such as tolerance and respect for others.

  • Improvement of communicative skills

Kids have no shame when speaking in other language and they do not get worried about making mistakes or what other people may think about them. This will defininitely foster their communicative skills.

  • Better working future

If kids can speak many languages, they will have a great advantage when searching for a job in the future. They could work in a multinational company! The world is demanding more and more real bilingual workers.

There are several options either for kids aged 10-12 or for those who are older, since the accommodation can be in a residence or with a host family, with different benefits. Staying abroad is an amazing opportunity for our children to improve their level of English or to learn a third language.

English camps, French camps or German camps, which one do you choose?

ENGLISH CAMPS

English is the third language with greater number of native speakers, with 400 million people, only exceeded by Chinese and Spanish. However, it is the most popular language since it is the most used among native and non-native speakers. In fact, English is accepted as official language in 67 different countries, as well as in other 27 non-sovereign states. Besides, it is the main language used in the business world and within important international institutions such as the United Nations, the NATO or the European Union. Nevertheless, not everybody speaks English at a bilingual level so improving it with a stay abroad can make the difference. This is why summer camps are a new opportunity to learn a new language, and we have lots of English camps and linguistic immersion camps in Spain, perfect for our children to improve their skills.

In SoloCampamentos we recommend summer camps by European Idiomas, as they have lots of programmes in United Kingdom, Ireland and United States, where children will learn and improve English whilst they meet new friends, do a lot of sport and enjoy cultural activities. Summer camps by Easy & Go in Dublin are another great choice, with possibility to choose among horse riding, multiadventure or sailing with native Irish kids.

FRENCH CAMPS

Speaking just one foreign language is not enough nowadays so, why don’t starting with French? Many people will think it is only spoken in very

concrete zones, such as France, Canada (Quebec) or Belgium, but in reality it is spoken in more than 30 countries! Together with English, French is the only language you can study in any country of the world so it is a very powerful tool for international communication. Either our kid is good at languages or not, he will enjoy in a French camp , it is a language very similar to Spanish and it can be quite easy to learn.

In this way, our children will speak two foreign languages since childhood, meaning they will have lots of advantages as they grow up: speaking French will provide some opportunities to study at great educational institutions such as the Sorbone University, in Paris, or get a job in multinational companies such as Danone or L’Oreal.

We have lots of French camps where kids do lots of sport and multiadventure activities. The family camp in Cannes Saint Raphäel by EF offers languages and fun in a beautiful location of the French coast. Learning French will be an amazing experience for our children! Take also a look to camps in Paris and camps in Nice to learn French in summer with international friends.

GERMAN CAMPS

German has become one of the most important international language lately, because speaking just English is not enough anymore. Did you

know German is the most spoken language by native people? Germany, Luxembourg, part of Switzerland, part of Italy and part of Belgium speak German officially, which means a 16% of the inhabitants in the European Union. In addition, there are around 105 million of native speakers and 80 million people who speak it as second language.

Learning a completely different language at a German camp can be an exciting and funny challenge. Some words seem to be impossible to pronounce with so many consonants! However, kids at German camps will learn with native teachers, following dynamic techniques and games, so they will finally speak a language that will boost their academic and working life. Studying German is a safe bet.

In SoloCampamentos, we offer a wide variety of German camps and linguistic immersion camps without going out of Spain, perfect for the youngest kids. But if you prefer a stay abroad, we recommend 3 weeks-camps in Germany by EF, or camps in Frankfurt with accommodation in a residence or with a host family.

Good luck searching your English camp, French camp or German camp!
