A unique camp where young people learn languages in the most natural way possible: as if they were on an exchange with a family or in a language immersion situation. For 24 hours a day they are with peers who are native speakers of the language.
We guide participants through carefully thought-out and well-planned activities. Giving the language learning an appropriate context. This active approach does not allow the learner to feel self-conscious and withdrawn but allows the participant to be in a real situation, naturally using his or her language skills because he or she wants to.
We are not like the vast majority of camps, we are boutique and on purpose. We have designed our format to be small, allowing the child to feel an important part of the experience.
Activities
DAILY PROGRAM
The day starts with a movement activity: yoga / mindfulness / gymnastics in the forest or sports.
Every day there is an off-site activity, either canoeing or surfing - in both cases with federated schools.
We love hiking and cultural exploration.
On “weekdays” there are language classes - fun and fascinating sessions with guides looking to make the language a living thing.
There is always...
Group time, to reinforce friendships and discovery…often through games such as ping pong, table soccer, darts, or by working on personal projects.
Time for disconnection and free time sessions at camp, at the beach, in the woods - no electronic devices!
Great food: three meals a day and mid-morning and afternoon snacks plus campers' home cooking 😊
Room time for relaxing, reading, chatting and personal hygiene. And, of course... sleep!
Theatre. At the end of each week of camp there is a performance/show that the kids will work on throughout the week. They have a training session with a professional actor who is also an incredible language teacher - this prepares them perfectly.
Each week there is a full day excursion outside of camp. It usually consists of walking a section of the Camino de Santiago or climbing a local mountain and going down to the beach to play cricket.
We do various outdoor activities such as hiking, shelter building, and fire cooking.
Towards the end of the camp there is always a night available for those who want to sleep under the stars camping - nothing less than a magical experience.
