IP in France. Discover the glamorous Côte Basque ideally located in South West France! Besides Paris and the French Riviera, Biarritz is one of the three most attractive holiday destinations in France and the area offers a wide choice of daytime holiday activities. Bayonne is a medieval town with great shopping facilities and a beautiful riverside-setting, while Biarritz is a vibrant cosmopolitan town with magnificent beaches, golf courses and numerous sporting facilities. The wonderful beaches are a surfer's paradise, and of course, you can also enroll for a surfing course at our experienced surf school. You can either stay in our residence (for Young Adults only homestay accommodation is available), a natural meeting place for surfers and students from all over the world, or with one of our carefully chosen host families.

The school:

All lessons take place in our local school in the Maison des Associations, situated between beach and residence. The focus of every language course is the improvement of your language skills – with the main aim of minimising your inhibitions when using the language. Therefore, the groups for each course consist of a maximum of 15 students, so that the teachers can monitor the progress of every student. The teachers will support you in taking part actively in the lessons – as you can only really improve by participating and speaking in class. The 14th July 2021 is the French National Bank Holiday. Lessons do not take place on that day and will not be made up. You can choose between the following language course:

• General French or English course with 15 lessons per week. Level: A1-C1
• Intensive French or English course with 20 lessons per week. Level: A1-C1
• Mini-group course French with 20 lessons per week with a maximum of 6 students. Level: A2-C1

Our friendly and helpful International Team with staff members from England, Germany, France, Spain, Russia or other countries will run a fully supervised activity programme in the afternoons & evenings, 7 days a week. In the afternoon you can choose between several activities and in the evening you can take place in one of our amazing events.

Accommodation

Residence

Live with international students in the Youth Guesthouse Biarritz.

You will stay in multi-bedded en-suite rooms (3-4 beds) in the Youth Guesthouse in Biarritz, situated just a 35-minute-walk (20 minutes by bus) from the town centre and the beach at Biarritz. You will reach our local school after a 15-minute-bus-ride. Also our supervisors live in the Residence and they are there if you have any problems or questions. Of course, a local bus pass is provided for the duration of your stay. Public launderettes with coin-operated washing and drying machines as well as public phone are available in the residence. Free-wifi as well as computers with free internet access are available in the reception area. All rooms have individual wardrobes with lockers, to safe your valuables. You’ll get full board accommodation that includes breakfast, packed lunch and dinner. Breakfast and dinner are taken in the Youth Guesthouse. We offer vegetarian and pork free options. Any other special diet (Gluten free, lactose free, food allergies) on request only, we might have to charge a supplement. Halal, kosher and vegan food is not available. Please advise at least 14 days prior arrival about any special diet.

Homestay

Enjoy the French „joie de vivre“ in homestay.

You may also stay in twin or triple bedrooms with one of our friendly homestay hosts, most of whom have been welcoming students for many years. Our hosts are not always traditional families with children but can also be single with or without children, older people and young families with or without children. They live in Biarritz, Anglet and Bayonne – some are situated close to the school while others are a bus-ride away (on average 30, max. 60 mins, a local bus pass is provided for the duration of your stay). Therefore homestay is a good opportunity for self-dependent students who like to learn something about the everyday life of a French family. You will get full board accommodation with breakfast, packed lunches and dinner. We offer vegetarian and vegan options in the homestay accommodation. Any other special diet (Gluten free, lactose free, food allergies) on request only. Halal and kosher food is not available. Please advise at least 4 weeks prior arrival about any special diet. Please be aware that due to bus frequency or availability at nights, students accommodated in host families perhaps will not be able to attend the evening activity.

How to get to Biarritz?

We are pleased to offer 3 different options of how to get to Biarritz. Transfers are included in the price if you arrive/depart from/to Biarritz. Self arranged journey You can choose a Self Arranged Journey from airports in France to Biarritz. This requires you to be accompanied by your parent/s  or a Guardian from the airport to Biarritz or from Biarritz to the airport.

Biarritz Airport (already included in the price)

If you fly into Biarritz Airport you will be picked up by well-known taxi companies or by your hosts. On the day of arrival our Meet & Greet Service or your host will be waiting for you at the exit area of customs and will, if not requested otherwise, take you directly to our Residence in Biarritz or your host will take you to your new home. On the day of departure, you will be dropped off at the Airport by your host or our staff. For your own safety, we will assist you with the check-in for your flight. If you book an Unaccompanied Minors service with your airline, please request our Unaccompanied Minors service also. Biarritz Railway Station (already included in the price) If you come by train to Biarritz you will be picked up by well-known taxi companies or by your hosts. On the day of arrival our Meet & Greet Service or your host will be waiting for you at the the station and will, if not requested otherwise, take you directly to our Residence in Biarritz or your host will take you to your new home. On the day of departure, you will be dropped of at the Railway Station by your host or our staff. For your own safety, we will ensure you board the correct train to take you home.
